About Toby
Toby Freyman, Ph.D., brings over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. During this time, he developed expertise in organizational leadership, defining strategic priorities, and both buy-side and sell-side business development to build biotech and pharmaceutical pipelines and product portfolios. In addition to leading multiple business development teams, Toby has championed and closed many investments and transactions across a range of deal types and therapeutic areas.
Prior to joining Alexion, Toby worked at a variety of large and small companies, including BeiGene (now BeOne Medicines), Takeda, Shire, Lyra Therapeutics (formerly Arsenal Medical) and Boston Scientific. He has developed product launch and market access strategies for blockbuster immunology and cardiovascular therapeutics as a business consultant at Charles River Associates.
Toby holds a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from MIT, where he received an NIH Graduate Fellowship through a joint program with Harvard and MIT.
